Pre-Order Your Recital DVD:  The public event of our annual dance recital is professionally recorded by our very popular video production company Pixelle-Media.  Clips may be posted on our website

Disney 2018:   As of  3.19.18, 14 total spots remain on our second block of rooms for this October's trip! This is going to be spooktacular! Online Registration is ongoing until the space fills. Massachusetts Spring Vacation Week:  The dance studios will be closed Monday, April 16th through Saturday, April 21st.  The Studios will re-open Monday, April 23rd.  Wishing you a wonderful spring break!

Acro Students: All Acro students from both the Ashburnham and Winchendon studios (Minis, Youth, Jr., Teen, & Ensemble classes & anyone in Star Wars Production) are invited to attend a bonus recital rehearsal at the Ashburnham Studio (7 Chapel Street) on Monday, April 30th (Minis: 4:30-6:15).  Please note that Ashburnham minis also will attend at their regular class times.
 
Annual Optional Picture Day is Friday, May 11th:  Each year, an annual and optional Picture Day is offered for our dancers to come in and be photographed in their recital costume(s).  Picture Day is Friday, May 11th at our Winchendon Studio from 4:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Dancers may come at any time during these hours.  Order forms will be available at the studios or by contacting our Professional Photographer Jennifer A. (Ridley) Gyles directly:  
Chaperone Meetings:  Individual chaperone meetings will be arranged with parents at our studios.  We are still welcoming and in need of chaperones.  Please be sure to sign up for chaperoning before ordering recital tickets, as chaperones are back stage with our dancing stars during the recital and do not need to purchase a ticket.

Winchendon's Annual Summer Solstice Parade - Saturday, June 16th (date to be confirmed by Town organizers).  Details to follow on this exciting event!
 
East Dance Studios' Summer Programming:  We offer programming and private/semi-private training opportunities all summer long at our studio.  Come join the fun!  Info to follow about exciting things we have planned for ages Preschool through Teen this summer!  
Annual Clark/YMCA Dance and Acro Summer Camp - Week of July 23rd - 27th:  Come join the fun at this year's Clark/YMCA Dance Camp July 23rd-July 27th!  Annually, we run the Clark/YMCA Dance and Acro Summer Camp.  This camp is open to dancers and pom/cheer/theater students alike to build upon their skills and learn new ones.  Day campers ages 5 & up also enjoy swim time!  To register, call  the YMCA 978.297.0869 or visit:  http://www.theclarkymca.org/youth_program/summer-sports-camps once the Clark posts this year's info.

Come join the fun!  Prices are simply amazing, ranging from the $20's to the $70's (depending on membership status at the YMCA) for the entire week!
 
Dance campers can dress in dance attire (leotards and leggings), or comfortable snug-fitting exercise wear. Footwear can include ballet or jazz shoes (if they already have them--if not, socks are fine to wear).  Main campers: A helpful tip is to wear the bathing suit under the attire for easy changing (extra pairs of socks come in very handy for after pool time).  Examples of fun, daily themes will be announced at camp. Popular themes include:  Wear Your Favorite Color Day, Pajama Day, Team Spirit Day... Please remember to bring a towel and an allergy-friendly snack each day.  Please label all items. Looking forward to the fun!

ONLINE RECITAL TICKET SALES GO LIVE ON APRIL 2nd!
  
 
     
Returning this year, we are using a service for dance studios called TUTUTIX.  This will further improve and modernize the way our recital tickets have been sold and distributed.  Charging a recital ticket fee, to assist with production costs, is the only way to afford the students a recital opportunity.  For years, we sent out questionnaires to see if families wanted to continue with recitals, and year after year, the answers and requests stated: "YES...one show, in May." TUTUTIX helps make the ticket process easy and convenient, and reserved auditorium seating makes the experience all the more enjoyable and organized.  All major credit cards are accepted.
  
Patrons can now click on specific seats on the chart to choose if they do not wish to have the seats the system has chosen for them. Here's a video tutorial to show you the ticket purchase process. 
 
Tickets go on sale Monday, April 2nd at 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (via phone and online) through May 10th. Tickets can also be purchased online 24/7 by visiting:

There is also a toll free line you can call for ticket orders: 1.855-222-2TIX.  This call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays (Central Time).
  
Tickets will be sold first come, first served, with the best seats sold first. 
 
For safety, comfort, and to stay in accordance with laws, please be sure to note the following:  Every human person needs a seat.  No "lap children" are allowed.  All aisles have to remain clear at all times. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on Monty Tech Grounds.  No food or drink is allowed in the auditorium. Non-flash photography from seats only.
After you purchase your tickets, you can opt to print them, or they will be printed and shipped to you on souvenir quality, full color, foil embossed ticket stock.  You can even personalize the tickets with your child's name!

There is no ticket limit, so a sell out can occur (though East Dance Studios' historical data has shown there have always been tickets left "at the door").  Door Tickets are $25.00/Cash Only.  Remember, to save money and for the best seat availability, log on or call as soon as possible when tickets go on sale.

"Try a Class" Week is March 1st-7th & March Make-Up Class Program Reminder:  Our final "Try a Class" week of the season is Thursday, March 1st - Wednesday, March 7th.  All East Dance Studios students can attend and try any class within their age group this week!  It's a great way to experience the fun of extra dance classes while utilizing great tuition value.  A friendly reminder that March is also the last month that make-ups for missed classes are offered as the dancers are concentrating on their recital choreography as we progress into April and May.  These popular services will return next season in October!  If you missed any of our bonus classes that were offered throughout the year, this is also a great and fun way to enjoy some extra classes and value.

Annual Recital T-Shirt Orders Are Due March 15th:  It's time to place orders! (To be delivered in April/May).  To order this year's special 27th season design, please send in a check made out to East Dance Studios with your child's name and size in the memo by March 15th. Shirts are $28.00 each and available in Child S-M-L & Adult S-M-L (and 1X or 2X for $2.00 more/$30.00).  Due to shirt order minimums, there will be only one order.  Every year we have parents who say: "Oh I wish I ordered one!" ... so don't delay! Order today!  :)

 

Attention Parents: 5, 10, 15, 20, & 25 Year Award Reminder:  

It's time to sign up your child/ren to receive their anniversary awards for the end of the season.  Please do so by e-mailing the office at info@eastdancestudios.com by March 1st with how you would like your child's name to appear on their trophy as well as which anniversary year they are celebrating with us.  Parents must sign their children up for this complimentary service in order for their children to receive their award.  This is especially important since Identity Protection Measures have been put in place in our office.  All e-registrations are automatically erased at the end of each season, and hard copy documents are shredded resulting in us implementing this honor system of trophy sign up.

 

Seniors & 10, 15, 20, 25 Year Students: Please contact the office via email at info@eastdancestudios.com with your name and which milestone/s you're celebrating with us so that we may plan accordingly.

Dismissing your child early from the Recital?  Please let us know by March 15th: As a reminder--all students are in the Grande Finale (last dance of show).  If you are dismissing your child early from the show, they will miss the Finale (and we need to factor that into their class's choreography ASAP) and a "Specialty Chaperone"/female adult member of your family must be with your child backstage at the rehearsal/s and the recital.  Please email us to make arrangements at:  info@eastdancestudios.com

      

Chaperones: Please sign up by March 15th (and remember not to buy yourself a recital ticket as you'll be with the Stars backstage!):

VIPs (Very Important People: Moms, Aunties, Grandmothers) are needed to chaperone our dancing stars of all ages backstage.  If you are interested in becoming a Chaperone (requirements are attending the dress rehearsal/s, and the recital), or if you are concerned about leaving your child at the rehearsal(s)/recital, please sign up today by e-mailing us at info@eastdancestudios.com

Our families have been talking, and we've been listening!  Our ticket system is one of our most popular services and continual improvement and customer convenience is our goal.  For decades prior to going to this company, we had looked into ticket companies, but their fees were just too high (almost the same as the face value of the ticket!).  This company, TutuTix, offers tremendous service for a low convenient fee of approx. $2.00 a ticket, and the base ticket price is $20.00 for advanced sales.   TutuTix offers a free print-at-home option.  The keepsake souvenir quality, full-color, foil embossed ticket on stock quality paper ticket will still be available as well. TutuTix will mail tickets directly to the homes of those who choose that option (which has been a request for years from our families). This company does it all with more conveniences and options than ever!

The first week of the month (Thursday, February 1st - Wednesday, February 7th) is "Try a Class" week for our students. Come join the fun!
We encourage dancers to try any class within their age group at either of our locations. This opportunity is a great extra tuition value, experience, and perk of being a student at East Dance Studios. In addition, special "Invitation to Dance Class" certificates for current students' friends or family members are also available by request for guests to come and watch or participate. Polling East Dance Studio Dancers: We usually only order dance warm-up jackets every other year because of the set up for the rhinestone design but since they will be part of the t-shirts if we have a minimum of 6 people interested, we can place an order this year. This is the perfect week to reach out to your friends and family to find out how many recital tickets you'll need to order. Remember, all seats are "Reserved Seating" and our standard online ticket ordering will go live Monday, April 2nd. Our recital ticket ordering system is by far one of our most popular services, and a recital ticket e-newsletter to provide you information about it will follow.
 
Videoing dance class material:
Recital choreography may be recorded in dance class as an educational practicing tool for our students (typically youth age and up). Parents, please reiterate our polices with your child that no public, internet/social media site posting is allowed for the material whatsoever. Students who wish not to be recorded within the dance class may of course excuse themselves during the brief periods of class when recording is allowed. It is up to the parent to give permission to their children to bring in a recording device or not. Please factor in that we cannot be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items when making your decision.

Our 27th anniversary annual Spring recital is Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Monty Tech in Fitchburg! Drop off for students the day of the recital is 11:30 AM. 


 

Dress Rehearsals are the Tuesday (5/15) and/or Thursday (5/17) the week of the show.
 

  • The Preschoolers and Minis who take dance classes in Ashburnham attend the Tuesday Dress Rehearsal, and the Preschoolers and Minis who take dance classes in Winchendon attend the Thursday Dress Rehearsal. Youth, Jr., & Teen dancers attend both. 
  • Drop off time at Dress Rehearsal/s is 3:30 p.m. 
  • Dress Rehearsal Dismissal times are: 
  1. Preschool classes (ages 3-4): 6:00/6:15
  2. Minis (ages 5-7): 6:45/7:00
  3. Youth (8-10) Classes: 7:45/8:00
  4. Juniors (11 & up) & Teens: 8:30/8:45

East Dance Studios' programming runs all year long at our studios. Some January Fun To Look Forward To:
 
Let's Dance! Celebrate the  new year with a friend from January 2nd through 8th at BAF/Bring a Friend and TAC/Try a Class week! This program is not only an opportunity for students to bring a friend to class with them, but it is also an opportunity for our students to take as many classes as they'd like within their age group at either of our locations.  This has proven to be a great tuition and experience value perk, especially during the holidays and winter months. Come join the fun!  

Pajamas Week:  January 8th-12th
Students may wear their jammies to dance class.  Come be comfy and cozy as you Dream~Dance & Achieve.  

Crazy or Lazy Hair Week: January 16th through 22nd 
To [hair] do, or not to [hair] do? It's up to you!  Hair up, down, or all around...this week is a tried and true student favorite!

Monday Students Please Note:  Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 15th: 
The Studios and Central Business Office will be closed in observance of the MLK Federal Holiday. Please be sure to take advantage of our Bring a Friend & Try a Class Week for some extra dance and acro fun! Also remember, your Crazy or Lazy Hair Monday will be January 22nd.  Enjoy!

Our Optional Class Make-Up Service:
Friendly reminder, tuition remains the same whether there are 3, 4, or 5 scheduled classes or rehearsal events in a calendar month. We offer make-ups for missed classes due to illness or having to miss a dance class for a school function or your area's road conditions (our most common missed class reasons, especially in December & winter months).  A list of the classes (that are running for your child's age group) to choose from is on our Schedules Page of our website.  Make-ups are optional and offered as a courtesy all the way through the month of March. By December 15th: Important & Time Sensitive!  Parents: It's Time to Order Costumes (if you haven't already). 
Our new, simplified "Girth & Go!" approach of supplying measurements keeps our parents' experience convenient and easy. 

Once your child/ren's class is casted and the costume(s) selected, we will be sending your child/ren's girth measurement home with them with an easy "how to" document.  When ordering costumes on-line, the girth measurement is the most important and best way to size.  For those parents who wish to do their own child's girth measurement or want to factor additional measurements, we will be sending home a tape measure, compliments of East Dance Studios, and as always we are here at the studio to assist anyone who needs it.
How to order costumes on-line at costumemanager.com: Once on Costume Manager's home page, 1. Click "DANCER" 2. Key in "East Dance Studios" under "Search by studio name" where you'll see your child/ren's class(es) 3. Click on the class(es). You can additionally "View Student Worksheet" & "Instructor Notes" once you're in the class page. The program is very intuitive and easy to navigate.
*Friendly reminder: If you are a returning family from last year, please remember to update the measurements in your account as last year's measurements will auto-populate what you entered last year. Each account is password protected and we cannot enter accounts to update the measurements for you.

    December: Order deadline for parents is December 15th.

  • Additional Information: Once the costumes start arriving, Costume Manger's customer service team receives the shipment, makes sure it's accurate then delivers the costumes to our studio ready for distribution.
    • The Costume Manager service meets the growing request that parents have been sharing with us to be a part of the costume sizing process and it also helps keep costume costs stable (last year, many enjoyed lower costs) while providing more administrative, sizing assistance, and ordering options for our families. 
    • Parents order and pay for costumes online through a separate, password-protected online shopping tool.
    • How much are recital costumes?  Depending on ages and sizes, and what you order for extras, costs range between 50.00+ to 90.00+ per class. Every effort is made to select lovely, appropriate styles that are under 100.00 from quality vendors. 
    • Customers will no longer have to worry about making the three payment deadlines (that were due to East Dance Studios) we've used in the past. Instead, parents can follow a plan that works for them by purchasing items one at a time to fit their budgets.  You just need to have completed your purchases by the order deadline in December to guarantee your costume(s) by the required-by date.
    • Don't have a credit card?  No problem!  After finding your total balance, you can use Visa Check Cards or Costume Manager Gift Cards with that amount on them as payment options.

The Polar Express is coming to town! East Dance Studios is proud to present this family-favorite holiday classic once again. 
All East Dance Studio students will be part of this exciting winter production whether you attend regular classes during the week or are part of our Saturday Polar Express Community Program classes. The main differences of the annual Spring performance and the special winter shows are:
1.  A costume doesn't have to be ordered/purchased in advance (we use everyday clothing items and/or reuse costumes the students already have).
2. Every student (not every class) is cast in the show. 
3. The performance is open seating/general admission and offers a discounted ticket.

Annual Recital Costume Ordering Information and Timeline

It's that time of year to start saving and preparing to order costumes for the upcoming May recital; Costume Manager requests costume orders to placed by December 15th. 

Our new, simplified "Girth & Go!" approach of supplying measurements keeps our parents' experience convenient and easy.
Throughout November, the exciting behind the scenes planning continues for our annual May recital. Once your child/ren's class is casted and the costume(s) selected, we will be sending your child/ren's girth measurement home with them with an easy "how to" document.  When ordering costumes on-line, the girth measurement is the most important and best way to size.  For those parents who wish to do their own child's girth measurement or want to factor additional measurements, we will be sending home a tape measure, compliments of East Dance Studios, and as always we are here at the studio to assist anyone who needs it.
How to order costumes on-line at costumemanager.com: Once on Costume Manager's home page, 1. Click "DANCER" 2. Key in "East Dance Studios" under "Search by studio name" where you'll see your child/ren's class(es) 3. Click on the class(es). You can additionally "View Student Worksheet" & "Instructor Notes" once you're in the class page. The program is very intuitive and easy to navigate.

What is Costume Manager?

A. Access: Go to CostumeManager.com, key in East Dance Studios, find your Class/Class ID, and Access your info. Costume Manager also offers fantastic search tools!
 
B. Build your Order: Remember, when in doubt...size by GIRTH. A fantastic feature of the system is that it will show you where your size falls (the most important measurement is the girth/torso measurement).
 
C. Check Out: Cross check against the Costume Worksheets on the Costume Manager website and check out.

Columbus Day Weekend Schedule: The dance studios and Central Business Office will be closedon Saturday, October 7th and Monday, October 9th. Annually (and learning from historical attendance data), we honor and close for two Monday holidays: Columbus Day and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We invite you to utilize our "Bring a Friend/Try a Class" weeks to enjoy additional class options! Please visit the Calendar and Events page on our website for more information.

Elective Performance Team Meeting (Disney 2018 & Local Convention/Competitions). Friday, October 13th at our Ashburnham studio from 6:00-7:30.  

We will be holding an informal Q&A meeting for students and families to learn more about our next and 8th Performance Tour to Walt Disney World next October (open to all families who wish to combine the event with a family vacation).  In addition, we'll be providing information on the completely separate program of this season's local convention and competition opportunities.  So many opportunities to explore!

 
 

Annual Halloween Dress Up Week: We invite you to come and have a spooktacular time by dressing up for your dance classes beginning Tuesday, October 24th through Monday, October 30th. Please make sure dancers have costumes that are safe for movement and do not restrict sight to ensure safety and fun!
Halloween: The dance studios and Central Business Office will be closed on Tuesday, October 31st. Over 26 years, historical data has shown us that Halloween attendance is scary! We've learned that our families need Halloween off, so we invite our Tuesday dancers to enjoy an extra class or two during our "Bring a Friend/Try A Class" weeks. There will be a "Bring a Friend/Try a Class" week the first weeks of October and November. We wish everyone happy and safe trick-or-treating adventures and activities!
